Greg Bates, Customer Service
I guess I am a rarity because I really do love my job. I joined the Liberty Coin Service family in March of 2006. Prior to that I worked in retail and wholesale sales and owned my own antique business. I started collecting coins when I was quite young and when I got older, my interests turned to collecting and refinishing antique furniture. I have furnished my home with antique furniture and lighting. I also collect cranberry glassware.
When I enjoy most about working here at Libery Coin is the interaction with customers and the staff. My primary duties are purchasing from the public. And my greatest satisfaction is when I am able to pay people more for their items than they are expecting, which happens most of the time. I also like to have fun with people and make their visit an enjoyable one. Selling your merchandise can sometimes be difficult and I want to make it as pleasant as possible.
Outside of work my interests are working in the yard, water gardening, camping, water-skiing, watching football and MSU sports. I have been married to my wife, Kim, for 33 years and have an adult son, Mike, who is studying to become a nurse in California.
